Question 1

How does SkillzBench verify that a SKILL.md skill is safe to install?

Accepted Answer

SkillzBench pins every version of a skill to a commit SHA, then validates it, checks its license, runs security scans, and applies quality judging. Each skill receives a Trust score from 0-100 built from security, quality, license, maintenance, and community signals — so you see exactly why a skill earned its rating. This is what SkillzBench is building and will offer at launch.

Question 2

What does the benchmark actually measure — and can a bad skill fake a good score?

Accepted Answer

Every skill is tested in a sandbox with the same model, run with and without the skill, and the resulting Lift is published in percentage points. Lift is always shown separately from ratings, and money never touches scores — so a paid placement can't buy a benchmark result. SkillzBench is pre-launch, and these benchmarks will be published once the product goes live.

Question 3

Does SkillzBench support script-bearing skills, or only instruction-only skills?

Accepted Answer

At launch, the scope is instruction-only skills — SKILL.md files plus text references. Script-bearing skills will be listed link-out only, so you can still discover them but SkillzBench won't execute or fully verify them initially.

Question 4

When can I actually use SkillzBench, and how do I get early access?

Accepted Answer

SkillzBench is pre-launch and actively being built — the waitlist and newsletter are live today, but the product itself is not yet public. Join the waitlist to be notified as the Discover, Verify, Benchmark, Equip, and Stay Current pillars come online.

Question 5

How is SkillzBench different from just browsing a skills marketplace on GitHub?

Accepted Answer

Marketplaces list skills; SkillzBench tests them. Instead of trusting a README, you get commit-SHA version pinning, security scans, license checks, quality judging, a 0-100 Trust score, and published Lift benchmarks run with and without the skill — plus per-agent loadouts through a single MCP server. It's an independent lab, not a listing site, and money never touches scores.
