Question 1

What exactly is an agent skill, and why does it need verification?

Accepted Answer

Agent skills are SKILL.md instruction packages for tools like Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI and chat-app agents. Published research found roughly of them carry at least one vulnerability. SkillzBench verifies each version by pinning it to a commit SHA, then runs validation, license checks, security scans and quality judging before assigning a trust score.

Question 2

How does SkillzBench measure whether a skill actually helps?

Accepted Answer

Through benchmarking: every skill is tested in a sandbox with the same model, once with the skill and once without, and the difference is published as Lift in percentage points. Lift is always shown separately from ratings, and money never touches scores, so the number reflects performance, not promotion.

Question 3

Can I control which skills each of my agents can access?

Accepted Answer

Yes — that's the Equip pillar. SkillzBench provides one MCP server plus per-agent loadouts: you toggle skills and tools per agent, and the agent only sees what was chosen. For teams, the Teams plan adds org loadouts, allowlists and audit trails.

Question 4

When will SkillzBench launch, and what does it support at first?

Accepted Answer

SkillzBench is pre-launch and actively being built — the waitlist and newsletter are live now, and joining gets you early access. The launch scope is instruction-only skills (SKILL.md plus text references); script-bearing skills are listed link-out only, which keeps the verified catalog focused and safe.

Question 5

How is SkillzBench different from just browsing GitHub or a skill marketplace?

Accepted Answer

GitHub gives you raw, unvetted files with no security scan, no version pinning and no performance data. Marketplaces rank by visibility, not merit. SkillzBench is an independent testing lab: every skill gets a 0-100 trust score from security, quality, license, maintenance and community signals, plus a separately published Lift — and money never touches scores.
