Question 1

How does SkillzBench verify that my SKILL.md skill is safe to install?

Accepted Answer

SkillzBench pins every version of your skill to a commit SHA, then validates it, license-checks it, security-scans it, and quality-judges it. The results feed into a 0-100 Trust score built from security, quality, license, maintenance and community signals that buyers can see. Note that SkillzBench is pre-launch, so verification will be available when the product goes live.

Question 2

Can I get my script-bearing skills verified too?

Accepted Answer

At launch, SkillzBench's scope is instruction-only skills — SKILL.md packages plus text references. Script-bearing skills are listed link-out only rather than fully verified. If your portfolio includes scripts, those entries will point users to your repository without the full verification pipeline.

Question 3

How is the Lift benchmark calculated for my skill?

Accepted Answer

Your skill is tested in a sandbox with the same model, with and without the skill, and the difference is published as a Lift in percentage points. Lift is always shown separately from ratings, and money never touches scores — so your benchmark is an independent measure of whether your skill actually helps.

Question 4

What happens when I update my skill after it's verified?

Accepted Answer

SkillzBench tracks upstream changes, re-scans and re-benchmarks your skill, and notifies you. This means your Trust score and Lift stay current as you ship new versions, rather than going stale after your first verification.

Question 5

How is this different from the vetting on ClawHub or other skill registries?

Accepted Answer

Registries publish skills with minimal or no security vetting — research found nearly of one major registry's packages were malicious. SkillzBench is an independent testing lab, not a listing venue: it pins versions to commit SHAs, runs security scans and license checks, benchmarks in a sandbox, and publishes a Trust score where money never touches scores. The Creator tier (~$5-10/mo) is built for verified authors.
