Question 1

How do I know if a SKILL.md package from GitHub is safe to give my business agent?

Accepted Answer

SkillzBench's Verify pillar pins every skill version to a commit SHA, then validates it, checks its license, runs a security scan, and applies a quality judgment. Each skill also gets a 0-100 Trust Score built from security, quality, license, maintenance and community signals. Note that SkillzBench is pre-launch, so these capabilities are what the lab is building and will offer at launch.

Question 2

Does SkillzBench actually measure whether a skill improves my agent's output?

Accepted Answer

Yes — that's the Benchmark pillar. Every skill is tested in a sandbox with the same model, with and without the skill, and the resulting Lift is published in percentage points. Lift is always shown separately from ratings, and money never touches scores, so the number you see is an independent measurement, not a vendor's marketing claim.

Question 3

Can I control which skills and tools each of my agents can access?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The Equip pillar gives you one MCP server plus per-agent loadouts — you toggle skills and tools per agent, and the agent only sees what was chosen for it. This gives small businesses enterprise-style access control without needing an engineering team to build guardrails from scratch.

Question 4

What happens when a skill I use gets updated upstream on GitHub?

Accepted Answer

The Stay Current pillar tracks upstream changes to skills you've equipped, re-scans and re-benchmarks them, and notifies you. That means you don't have to manually watch repositories or wonder whether an update broke something — SkillzBench is designed to keep your equipped skills continuously verified.

Question 5

How is SkillzBench different from just browsing skills on GitHub or a marketplace?

Accepted Answer

Marketplaces have every incentive to sell you more skills; SkillzBench is an independent testing lab. Skills are deduplicated from GitHub crawls, pinned to commit SHAs, security-scanned, license-checked, and benchmarked for Lift with the same model — and since money never touches scores, the Trust Score and Lift figures stay independent. Pricing is also planned with a generous free tier, Pro at roughly $9-15/mo, and Teams at roughly $15-25/seat/mo for org loadouts, allowlists and audit.
