Question 1

What exactly is an agent skill, and why does it need testing?

Accepted Answer

Agent skills are SKILL.md instruction packages for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI and chat-app agents — reusable instructions that extend what an agent can do. They're everywhere now, but published research found roughly carry at least one vulnerability. SkillzBench exists to tell you which ones actually help and which are risky.

Question 2

How does SkillzBench calculate the Lift for a skill?

Accepted Answer

We test every skill in a sandbox using the same model, running the agent with and without the skill, and publish the difference in percentage points. Lift is always shown separately from ratings and trust scores, and money never touches the scores — so the number reflects performance, not promotion.

Question 3

What does the 0-100 trust score actually measure?

Accepted Answer

The trust score combines five signal categories: security, quality, license, maintenance and community. A skill's score tells you how safe and well-maintained it is, while its Lift tells you how much it improves agent performance — you get both, kept deliberately separate.

Question 4

When can I start using SkillzBench, and what will it cost?

Accepted Answer

SkillzBench is pre-launch and actively being built — the waitlist and newsletter are live now. Our pricing hypothesis includes a generous free tier, Pro at roughly $9-15/month for more agents and unlimited enabled skills, Teams at $15-25/seat/month for org loadouts and allowlists, and Creator at $5-10/month for verified authors.

Question 5

How is SkillzBench different from just browsing GitHub for skills?

Accepted Answer

GitHub gives you raw repos with no verification, no benchmarking and no change tracking. SkillzBench crawls and dedupes skills, pins every version to a commit SHA, runs security scans and license checks, publishes sandbox-measured Lift, and re-scans when upstream changes — plus one MCP server with per-agent loadouts for controlled deployment.
