Question 1

How does SkillzBench measure whether an AI agent skill actually improves performance?

Accepted Answer

SkillzBench's Benchmark pillar tests every skill in a sandbox using the same model, running the task with and without the skill, then publishes the Lift in percentage points. Because Lift is always shown separately from ratings and Trust Scores, you see the measured performance difference without any blended or sponsored numbers.

Question 2

What does the Trust Score actually evaluate, and can vendors pay to improve it?

Accepted Answer

The Trust Score ranges 0-100 and aggregates security, quality, license, maintenance and community signals gathered during verification. Money never touches scores — no ranking, placement, or score can be bought, which is a core principle of the platform.

Question 3

Is SkillzBench live right now, and how do I get early access?

Accepted Answer

SkillzBench is pre-launch and actively being built. The waitlist/newsletter is live today, and joining it is the way to get early access to the Discover, Verify, Benchmark, Equip and Stay Current pillars as they roll out. No live benchmark results are published yet.

Question 4

Which agents and skill formats will SkillzBench support at launch?

Accepted Answer

Launch scope covers instruction-only skills — SKILL.md packages plus text references — for agents like Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI and chat-app agents. Script-bearing skills will be listed link-out only. Equip works through one MCP server with per-agent loadouts you toggle yourself.

Question 5

How is SkillzBench different from just reading GitHub stars or vendor benchmark claims?

Accepted Answer

GitHub stars measure popularity, not safety or lift, and vendor benchmarks suffer from well-documented reliability problems. SkillzBench instead pins every version to a commit SHA, security-scans and license-checks each skill, benchmarks it in a controlled same-model sandbox, and keeps re-scanning and re-benchmarking as upstream changes land — with notifications so you always know what changed.
